Recently, Wieden+Kennedy used Gigapan technology to create a gigapixel image of the Nike Foamposite One “Sharpie” and Penny 6 pack shoes. Usually this photographic process is used to create gigapixel shots of city landscapes and outer space. Wieden+Kennedy wanted to show the incredible detail and resolution that can be achieved using this technology. There are 4,972 individual images that were stitched together to make the final image.

We used the high resolution HP Latex 360 printer to print panels and install them on Wieden+Kennedy’s 16’10” x 34’5” gallery wall. The amount of detail captured and represented in the print are unlike anything printed at this size. The following is a time lapse movie of the installation.

“Big moments are often made by many smaller ones” is the driving conceptual force behind the show and the thread connecting the labor intensive Gigapan process to Hardaway’s storied career. The show is an example of how dedication to combining craft and technology can lead to innovative, beautiful experiences. We are proud to work with Wieden+Kennedy on this project.
